There was a time when the name GODFATHER stood for the very best in drum & bass events, the biggest names in the business, the most up-for-it crowds and above all the most fearsome sound system of the time.

...NOTHING HAS CHANGED !!

Godfather events are known for presenting dj's who were later to become legendary including the likes of FABIO, GROOVERIDER, RAY KEITH, BROKIE, DETT and the list goes on. In fact GODFATHER has had nearly every big league D'n'B turntablist at its events.

The Godfather - Amazing re-union

We had high expectations for this night and they were more than fulfilled with a superb turnout of old skool ravers at the Venue Ipswich.

Despite the venue's exterior looking more like a building site, there was something fitting about it. The original warehouse raves were all about the music with the venue being less important. It goes to show that the DJ's all performed at the top of their game with every DJ and MC rocking the crowd.

It was really quite special to see our favourite Jungle & Drum and Bass DJ's appear again, since Ipswich lost much of it's underground music scene to 'Cheap Drinks and Manufactured Music' corporate venues.

It's amazing to think that Ipswich was the world wide No1 home of Drum and Bass, something that seems to have been forgotten by many but appreciated by the crowd that was hungry for what once was.

The success of the Godfather Reunion will no doubt inspire a follow up.
